Job description

Finance Controller of a fast-growing PE owned Product Development Company with global clientele

Reports to: Initially to Chief of Staff, subsequently to CEO

Location: Baner, Pune

Company Background

The company is a ~150 people Product Development Partner to US based product companies and consulting companies like BCG. B2B travel-tech aggregator, which consolidates travel content (airfares, hotel room rates, etc.) from suppliers (airlines, hotels) and distributes them to travel agents, corporates, and other online travel platforms.

The company was started in 2012 and has scaled up to be a differentiated Product Development Partner led by industry veterans.

With our partnership, we further expect to invest and build this into a multi-million dollar business with strong profitability and growth.

The company is managed by a professional CEO who brings 30+ years of experience with the previous roles as COO of LTIMindtree and Brillio.

Objective: The company is looking for a energetic finance professional who can take charge of the Finance, Legal and Secretarial functions. This individual should be able to own and drive all aspects of strategic finance, including translating company strategy into financial plans, tracking of those financial plans against operating performance, evaluation and implementation of an ERP system, and driving continuous improvement in finance processes as per global best practices.

This individual should bring fresh strategic thinking to the business and be a key thought partner to the CEO.

We expect this role to eventually groom into a CFO as the company grows.

Prior qualifications:

• Chartered Accountant / MBA – Finance

• 5+ years-experience in finance function

- Must have prior experience in IT services finance

- Good to have prior experience in Big 6 audit/ diligence

• Experience with rollout and management of ERP, financial control / reporting systems, budgeting, MIS and dashboarding, compliance


• Prepare the quarterly and annual business plan, track operating performance against plan.

• Manage working capital and cashflow on a monthly basis to ensure smooth operations.

• Drive margin and cash performance improvements

• Key skillsets required – SOW review, deal modelling, review pricing sheets and monitor margins

• Triangulate information from various sources like sales, delivery, HR, resource management – to prepare function level and board level dashboards

• Statutory compliance, handling audits, secretarial processes

• Build and train the lower-level finance function to support the rapidly growing business size and complexities.

• Bring in industry best practices, be a thought partner to the CEO in thinking strategically about unit economics, cash management etc
