JOB DESCRIPTION FOR ACCOUNTS HEAD
Position – Accounts Head Location – Maple H.O.
Reporting to – President
Reportees – Accts. team

Position Description:
The Head of Accounting oversees all activities of the accounting and tax accounting
departments and is involved in the supervision and management of general accounting
activities, analyses, business partnership, and the maintenance of effective internal
controls while ensuring statutory compliance in all accounting initiatives.
Role description
Accounts & Audits
 Supervision of all aspects of Accounts on a day to day basis by setting system, account
grouping, accounting code creation and other matters pertaining to accounting
 Overall responsibility of year-end Annual Accounts & audits, submission of related
documents such as IFC Report
Statutory
 Overview of all past sales tax/ service tax w.r.t cases, advance taxes, Annual tax
computations , Assessments, GST matter & advice to team
 Full responsibility in other matters such as Factory License, IEC Code matters, MSMED
certification etc.
Finance & Investments
 Exploring new avenues of Fund generation - banks, Loans against securities, Temporary
Loans & Intercompany loans
 Advice & responsible for optimum utilization of company funds and deployment of
excess funds into Mutual Funds, Fixed Deposits, Repayments of overdue loans &
assessing WC needs.
Financial Reporting
 Monthly MIS - verification & analysis
 Monthly Profit & Loss - analyzed segment wise
 Overview of Compilation of Budgets, Monthly Analysis vis-à-vis Actuals
Creditors / Payments Management
 Oversee all Payment to suppliers as per order terms and yearly discounts, commissions,
schemes w.r.t viability & correctness.
 Oversee Debtors Management
 Analysis & control on outstanding
 Verification of new dealer appointments w.r.t their background, credit offered, proper
documentation, GST
 Strict on Order clearance

Tender Matters
 Analysis of each Tender document wrt Rates, costs, statutory obligations & advise to
Management
 Oversee the Billing aspects - proper format, type of format, timely generation as per
stated parameters.
 Full study of related aspects such as terms of appointment of sub-contractor/ party,
division of Expenses & Profits, viability of arrangements and detailed records
 Full responsibility in arranging bank funding for Tender purposes- FD, BG, Unsecured
Loan, Loan against Securities
 Advise & supervise obtaining other bank documents such as Solvency Certificate, CA
certificate, bank paperwork etc.
 Make site visits as and when required
Leadership
 Believes in leading from the front, train subordinates so that they will be ready for next
level
 Set systems in the department w.r.t work, work allocation, timeliness , accuracy and
accountability

Min qualification: M.Com / CA
Experience: 10-12 years in Accounts Dept.
Knowledge: handling similar responsibilities will get preference
Skills: Local language, Communication, Interpersonal, Attitude: Self-discipline,
Punctuality, Commitment, and Responsible
