The role of Audit, MIS & Cost Controller for CGCEL is to manage the cost control initiatives, ensure proper internal controls, co-ordinate audits, set budget for the region in alignment with the overall company goals. He/she will ensure accurate and timely MIS reporting. He/she will also be responsible in developing the team for audit/MIS function and design their performance indicators.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.   PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

  1. Oversee complete regional budgeting
  • Accurately forecast budget requirements by considering past performance and division growth
  • Collaborate with other functions for developing annual budget
  • Make recommendations to improve budgeting process and adherence to budget
  • Check numbers, postings and documents for budget allocations
  1. Record and update budget closing
  • Maintain trial balance
  • Perform GL reconciliation
  • Create, maintain, and review overall trial balance & general ledger
  1. Manage EMD/Bank Guarantee process & requirements

 

 

  • Manage overall ED/bank guarantee process right from creation to seeking approval
  • Monitor open bank guarantees and ensure timely closure or extension as applicable
  1. Monitor & ensure adherence to audit schedule
  • Ensure compliance to audit schedule and timely resolution of audit queries
  • Maintain overall reports & records and other relevant documents in accordance to audit requirements
  • Develop and implements processes that are in line with the audit and corporate finance function’s goals; make recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure implementation of corporate policies with minimal deviation; monitor and report on deviations from standards
  • Ensure that the overall function operates in alignment with the relevant legal and accounting policy requirements and ensure that all necessary documentation is in place   
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory rules in conjunction with audit and corporate function
  1. Risk and Compliance management
  • Ensure timely preparation and release of various financial reports by building strong accounting processes
  • Stay updated on industry and legislative changes
  1. Consolidate overall regional MIS and manage MIS reporting

 

  • Manage periodic reconciliation of MIS with other accounting functions
  • Manage overall MIS consolidation
  • Ensure timely reporting of MIS
  • Monitor MIS reconciliation process and ensure timely data analysis
  • Create, maintain, and review overall MIS report & records and other relevant documents in accordance to requirements
  • Review and proactively manage the MIS reporting process
  • Check numbers, postings and documents for correct entry, accuracy, and proper allocations
  1. Conduct cost variance analysis
  • Analyse and assess expense variance and identify corrective actions for minimizing budget deviations; take necessary steps where ever applicable
  • Manage and ensure timely completion of all special projects convened towards cost reduction initiatives
  1. Risk and Compliance management
  • Ensure that the overall function operates in alignment with the relevant legal and accounting policy requirements and ensure that all necessary documentation is in place   
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory rules in conjunction with audit and corporate function
  • Ensure timely preparation and release of various financial reports by building strong accounting processes
  • Stay updated on industry and legislative changes

5.     SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

 

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Chartered Accountant

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE (Minimum 4-5 years)

  • Proven work experience as an Audit/ MIS Manager or cost compliance officer
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software; good knowledge in spreadsheets and MS Excel, SAP
  • Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports
  • Ability to accurately process numerical data
  • Proficient in using all different types of office equipment and basic computer operation
