Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day running of the department and all relevant accounting functions. The position requires close collaboration with Director of Finance and Departmental HODs to ensure procedures are understood and adhered to within the department.

 

Principal Responsibilities/Key Result Areas.

Strategic Planning

Participating in the strategic planning exercise of the company

 

Budgeting

Assist in preparation of capital & revenue budgets

Consolidation of budgets for the group.

Track spending vis-à-vis approved budgets 

 

Accounting & Review

Review Business Financial Performance with CEO, Business Unit Heads & CFO

Preparation of the Financial Statements as per Local Regulation and IFRS (for the company and each of its subsidiaries and the consolidated statements)

Accounting for Mergers and Acquisition and Disposal of Subsidiaries.

Accounting for Investments in Associates (Not an Subsidiary) and assess value of Investment and write-down the investment value, if needed

Assist in Inventory Valuation and Debtors

Tax Management at HQ & at Subsidiary level

 

 Systems, Process & Control

Laying down Standard Operating procedure for the Accounts function and Writing up SOP Manual and ensure adherence to SOP across Organization

Standardizing Accounting Documents, preparation and Reporting of Financial Statements and ensure adherence to standardization across organization

Laying down KYC Procedure and ensure strict compliance before any new Customer or Suppliers is On Boarded

Laying down Credit Rating System, Assess Credit Worthiness and Approve Limit, in case where Credit terms are requested

Lay down Transfer pricing Mechanism to ensure adherence to Tax Related Matters

 

STATUTORY MATTERS

Liase with Auditors and ensure timely completion of Audits

Liase with Ta x Consultants with regard to Tax Matters in HQ and at    Subsidiary level

Liase with Tax Department with regard to GST / VAT matters

  

STAFF RELATED

Recruitment, Performance Evaluation and feedback and discuss Career growth based on performance

Induction program for Staff before taking charge of their role

 

OTHERS

Assess Jurisdiction issues with regard to Accounting & Tax related issues before finalizing incorporation of a new outfit

Move in first and put in place Accounting Controls before startup commence operations

Required Competencies:

 

Education & Experience

CA/ICWA with 5 – 8 yrs. experience

Accounts Payable Experience preferred

Extensive knowledge about accounting and management principles and Accounts Payable procedures.

Should have flair for finance and accounts.

Working knowledge of Accounting Standards
